Parçanın öyküsü şöyle:
gelinin düğün öncesi mikveye hazırlanışını anlatır şarkı. mikvede gelin suya girer, dualarla yıkanır ve sonrasında çiçek kokuları sürünüp giyinir elbisesini. geline bu sırada ailenin kadınları eşlik eder, gelinin ve damadın annesi dualarla övülür. sadece kadınların katıldığı düğün mikvesinde çeşit çeşit yemeğin yanında tatlılar ikram edilir, şarkılar söylenip eğlenilir. ayrıca yedi gün süren özel düğün eğlencelerinde de baş tacı şarkıdır.
şarkıda gelin pek nazik bir deniz kızına benzetilir. denizden çıkıp günü aydınlatan gelin sarı giysiler içindedir. eşinin yanına varır ve kırmızı elbisesiyle birlikte katılırlar kutlamalara. gelinin beyazlığından, saflığından, temizliğinden ve yakın zamanda anne olacağından bahsedilir. iyi ailenin ak güvercinidir, ailesini hep mutlu etmiştir gelin. deniz kıyısında, nehir kenarında, ayva ve tarçın ağaçlarının çiçek açtığı memlekette beyaz ve pembeler içindedir gelin. ruhu temizdir, parlaktır.
